The National Association of Chain Drug Stores Foundation celebrated its 16th annual Foundation Dinner Wednesday evening in New York City, raising a record $1.9 million, which will continue to fuel the Foundation’s patient-centered care research agenda.
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill announced on Wednesday a $100 million commitment to the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy from Fred Eshelman, a 1972 graduate of the School, founder and former CEO of Pharmaceutical Product Development, and founding chairman of Furiex Pharmaceuticals.

Alliance Boots on Thursday announced that it has completed the acquisition of a 12% stake in Nanjing Pharmaceutical in China. As a result of the investment, Alliance Boots becomes the second largest shareholder of the company with the right to nominate board members and a member of the senior management.
