Cosmetic Executive Women hosted its 22nd annual CEW Beauty Insiders Awards last week at an exclusive awards gala luncheon, in New York’s storied Warldorf Astoria. The group’s 6,000-plus members selected 212 finalists from a group of more than 800 mass and prestige product entries.
Bloomberg is reporting that one the challenges facing Johnson & Johnson is it's loss of market share in the baby care category in the U.S. The report — and J&J CFO Dominic Caruso — are attributing this loss to the increased interest among consumers (parents in particular), and Caruso said the company has taken steps to remove such ingredients as parabens from its products, and that it is planning to unveil a new branding effort this week. At Kantar Retail’s Drug Channel Workshop in early May, director Brian Owens noted that as much as 25% to 30% of supplier and retail innovations will be centered around fresh, local, organic, natural and health products — something he called the “FLONH” effect.
