MINNEAPOLIS — Target announced plans to open a new store in Baltimore by October 2013. The retail giant has said approximately 200 new team members will be hired for the new location, part of the Canton Crossing Shopping Center on Boston Street.
"Target is pleased to open its third store in the Baltimore community," said Samir Shah, Target's SVP stores in the Eastern region. "Maryland continues to be a great market for Target, and we are committed to being a good neighbor and developing long-lasting relationships with guests and the Baltimore community."
To date, Target has announced 14 new locations in 2013. The Baltimore East location will be approximately 135,000 sq. ft. and will offer guests the everyday essentials and exclusive brands they have come to expect from Target. In addition, the new store will feature a selection of fresh produce, fresh packaged meats and pre-packaged baked goods to further enhance their customers' shopping experience.
And, as always, Target looks for ways to interact in their community with partnerships through local organizations. Target will establish a local grant program through the store, contribute to the United Way, and set up a donation to Feeding America, or another approved agency.
