Conair, in partnership with Kao Brands, will create a line of hair tools and appliances under the John Frieda brand name. The John Frieda hair styling tools collection will launch in first quarter 2011 and will include a series of hair dryers, straighteners and styling tools.

Milani Cosmetics, which positions its brand as a multicultural collection for all ethnicities, will debut nine new products featuring 50 new SKUs beginning in January 2011.

New products include: Baked eye shadow ($6.49 SRP), Baked blush ($6.99 SRP), Baked bronzer ($7.99 SRP), HD Advanced lip color ($6.49 SRP), Lip Flash shimmer gloss pencil ($5.99 SRP), One Coat glitter specialty nail lacquer ($3.99 SRP), Jewel FX specialty nail lacquer ($3.99 SRP), Smoothé base coat specialty nail treatment ($3.99 SRP) and Glossé top coat specialty nail treatment ($3.99 SRP).

African-American hair care company Johnson Products has announced the winners of The Great Model Search. The winners were awarded $5,000 cash, a modeling contract and an opportunity to be the new faces of JPC’s Gentle Treatment and Ultra Sheen brands. The Great Model Search for “Us Men” will launch in February 2011, coinciding with the market introduction of JPC’s new Ultra Sheen men’s line.

Beiersdorf, whose brands include Nivea, Eucerin and Aqua-phor, has promoted Nicolas Maurer to corporate VP global business unit. Maurer will oversee Beiersdorf’s skin care business globally, which includes face, hand and body, sun and lip care. He will manage each of these categories on a global level to set the brands’ innovation strategy and overall marketing direction.

For the last five years, Maurer has served as VP marketing for all Beiersdorf brands in the United States.
