NACDS kicks off Marketplace Conference with successful programs

SAN DIEGO The National Association of Chain Drug Stores' 2010 Marketplace Conference kicked off this weekend with exclusive discussions and meet-and-greets, connecting the nation's top retailers and suppliers.

The conference's programs, including Meet the Market -- a program that featured nearly 8,000 preplanned appointments for one-on-one meetings to discuss suppliers’ products and services -- and “Meet the Retailer/How to Do Business With…” sessions -- which featured exclusive discussions with leading retail companies -- were just some of the successful highlights held over the weekend. Additionally, many exhibitors also prominently displayed their new products in the “Product Showcase” on the exhibit hall floor on Sunday.

Meanwhile, CVS Caremark president and COO Larry Merlo, who currently serves as NACDS chairman, addressed a meeting of the NACDS Retail Advisory Board, which included presentations on consumer marketing.

“This year’s NACDS Marketplace Conference is full of high energy and productivity,” said NACDS president and CEO Steve Anderson. “The top-notch programming and speakers, and exhibitor enthusiasm, are resulting in positive experiences for retailers and suppliers. We look forward to continued successful business opportunities for all attendees.”
