ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The National Association of Chain Drug Stores on Monday posted its "wrap" video, capturing the highlights of this year's 2016 Total Store Expo in Boston.
For example, there were almost 20 Insight Sessions that helped NACDS retailer and supplier members learn the latest thoughts on how to best boost front-end productivity, enhance pharmacy services and improve supply chain efficiencies. And NACDS TSE's Meet the Market event, where suppliers and their retail partners can meet in rapid-fire fashion with follow-up on the show floor, facilitated more than 7,000 appointments.
NACDS president and CEO Steve Anderson and NACDS chairman Martin Otto addressed the volatility of this year's Presidential election campaign, stressing the importance of bipartisan efforts in the years ahead to help shape access-friendly healthcare.
And business "Shark" Daymon John, celebrated entrepreneur and an investor on the popular ABC show "Shark Tank," spoke to NACDS TSE attendees on the importance of social media in promoting brands to today's consumers. "Social media is obviously the best and the worst," John told NACDS.TV. "It's time consuming and if you put out the wrong message you can counter-act what you're trying to do," he said. But if you learn how to optimize social media well, he continued, the consumer learnings can prove invaluable.
Looking ahead, the 5th annual NACDS Total Store Expo will take place in San Diego August 19-22, 2017.
