Harris Teeter closes three stores amid hurricane

MATTHEWS, N.C. — North Carolina-based supermarket chain Harris Teeter has elected to close three locations due to the inclement weather.

Stores in Kill Devil Hills, N.C., Corolla, N.C., and Kitty Hawk, N.C., were all closed as Hurricane Irene continues its path along the eastern shores.

Harris Teeter also noted that it has prepositioned tractor trailers with generators and dry ice at key distribution points and also has stocked stores in advance with disaster supplies including water and ice.
