H. D. Smith names Ed Bissler corporate VP sales

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — H. D. Smith on Thursday named Ed Bissler corporate VP sales. Bissler comes to H. D. Smith from McKesson, where he most recently directed the strategic sales and service functions for many of that company’s national accounts.

In his new role at H. D. Smith, Bissler will be responsible for overseeing the company’s overall sales function and implementing the strategic direction of the sales team as H. D. Smith targets new growth sectors.

Ed’s proven strategic approach to sales allows him to lead the charge in extending H. D. Smith’s customer-centric values to an increasing number of retail and institutional community pharmacies."

Prior to joining H. D. Smith, Bissler served as VP strategic solutions in retail national accounts at McKesson. In that position, he ensured the retention and customer satisfaction of some of McKesson’s largest pharmacy customers. Before his role in national accounts, Bissler served in positions of increasing responsibility at McKesson, beginning as a hospital account manager and working his way up to a regional manager role.

Bissler earned a bachelor's degree in marketing from Kent State University.  He is trained as a Six Sigma Greenbelt.
