GNC's inaugural Total Lean Challenge and Sweepstakes draws more than 22,000 participants

PITTSBURGH — GNC Holdings on Tuesday concluded its Total Lean Challenge and Sweepstakes, rewarding 13 participants with a share of $25,000 in cash and prizes. 

The grand prize winner Karen Parra of Sacramento, Calif. received $10,000, and 12 other lucky sweepstakes participants each received $1,250 in prizes as part of a 12-week challenge designed to help consumers transform their eating and exercise habits for long-term weight management by giving them a practical way to take control of their health.

"At GNC, we understand how difficult it can be to get started on a weight-loss program, and we are proud to support Karen’s efforts to live well," stated Tom Dowd, EVP, chief merchandising officer and general manager for GNC. "We encourage everyone to take the Total Lean Challenge and see for themselves what happens when you take control of your own health & wellness.” 

The Total Lean Challenge drew 2,878 consumers who took the initial challenge, without sweepstakes, that started on Jan. 7. As many as 22,657 unique consumers signed up for the Total Lean Challenge and Sweepstakes, which started on March 3.
