Diplomat sponsors summer camp for children with kidney disease

Five-day camp aimed at children who have special medical needs that often prevent outdoor activities

FLINT, Mich. – Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy is supporting a summer camp for children with chronic kidney disease, the company said Tuesday.

Diplomat said it would support the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan's 27th consecutive Kid's Camp in Fenton, Mich., which started Sunday and lasts through Friday.

Because of their need for dialysis treatment and medical attention, children with chronic kidney disease often have limited options for outdoor activities. The camp offers activities such as swimming, boating, arts and crafts, a zip line, high ropes, horseback riding and others.

"Diplomat has extensive experience in treating patients with chronic kidney disease and has long standing respect and admiration for the work of the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan," Diplomat CEO Phil Hagerman said.
