Diplomat to hold children's health-and-wellness event

FLINT, Mich. — Diplomat on Tuesday announced it is holding a ‘Keep Kids Safe and Healthy’ event on April 26. The event will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Diplomat’s retail store in Flint.
The event will promote Diplomat’s new children’s vitamin program. Parents or guardians of children ages 2 years to 6 years may sign up to participate in the initiative. Participants will be able to pick up a free bottle of children’s vitamins, once per month at Diplomat’s Beecher Road location.
In addition to signing up for the vitamin program, representatives from the Michigan State Police will be on hand to speak about children’s safety and make free EZ Child ID kits available. The EZ Child ID software will record a child’s fingerprints, photo and voice. The information will be provided to parents as a photo ID card and CD. In the event that a child goes missing, this ID information can be vital to assisting law enforcement personal in their recovery efforts.
Local dentist Robert Hale, of Davison, will be on hand with several colleagues to talk about good dental habits and hand out toothbrushes and floss.
The event will also provide an opportunity for attendees to drop off expired or unused medications. Leftover drugs in the home put children and other household members at risk of accidental poisonings. Flushing medications down the toilet can put these drugs into our waterways and environment. Diplomat will safely dispose of non-controlled prescription and over-the-counter medications dropped off at the event.
