  • Newly created independent Ahold company names Roger Wheeler president

    NEW YORK — Retail Business Services, an independent company that provides support services to Ahold USA and Delhaize America local brands, appointed Roger Wheeler as its president.

    Wheeler has more than 20 years in retail operations, including a number of roles with Stop & Shop and Ahold USA, including stints as senior vice president of supply chain and third party management, Oracle program leader and VP of meat and seafood.

  • Ahold Delhaize sees pricing pressure in U.S. Food Lion markets

    ZAANDAM, The Netherlands — Ahold Delhaize on Thursday released its first full set of quarterly results since the July completion of the merger of Ahold and Delhaize. The full company saw Q3 net sales of €13.86 billion ($14.75 billion) on an IFRS basis and €14.54 billion ($15.49 billion) on a pro forma basis. The pro forma numbers are used to give effect to the merger as if it had taken place on the first day of the company’s 2015 fiscal year.

    SALISBURY, N.C. — Food Lion on Tuesday announced that it would be unveiling a new shopping experience for its customers at 142 stores in the greater Charlotte area on Oct. 12. The company said it has invested $215 million this year to remodel stores, lower prices, hire hundreds of new associates and give back to local communities.
