The natural hair care line by makeup and beauty expert Peter Lamas, founder of Peter Lamas Products, made its way to Duane Reade in the spring and was spotted on shelf at the recently opened Duane Reade flagship store in Union Square. Lamas has more than 30 years of experience in the beauty industry, defining the looks of Hollywood's hottest stars, such as Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and Elizabeth Taylor. |

Ever since the game began several years ago, beer pong has become as much a part of college campus parties in America as fashioning bed sheets into Roman-style togas or having everyone dress in the most hideous fashions of a past decade. Now, Duane Reade is hoping to capitalize on the trend, selling packages of ping pong balls next to its beer shelf, as seen in this photo taken at the chain’s store at 55th St. and Park Ave., downstairs from Drug Store News’ offices. |

Duane Reade is stocking 100% Arabica coffee for drip and espresso coffee makers made by Trieste, Italy-based Illycaffe. Retailing at $17.89 for an 8.8 oz. can and often sold at upscale supermarkets, the coffee is in keeping with Duane Reade’s efforts to move up the value chain and become more than just the typical corner drug store. |
